This year, Tesla's stock has crossed the $200 threshold a few times, and in recent weeks

Some investors are unsure of the significance of the milestone and whether they should sell

add to their portfolio, or stay onto the stock for the long term after hearing the news.

The first market close over $200 since late March, according to Barron's author Allen Root, 

Root adds that it might not be a good idea to purchase and sell Tesla's shares too frequently because

they are relatively volatile in relation to the market as a whole.

While individual traders could be more focused on immediate profits and short-term gains, 

other investors will, in principle, prefer to keep stakes in a firm like Tesla for a longer length of time.
